Jeremy Balfour, Scottish Conservative MSP raised a motion at the Scottish Parliament this week to lend his support for the upcoming Midlothian Science Festival. The programme of mainly free events aims to promote enjoyable science activities to a wide audience of all ages and will be held from 7th to 21st October at venues across the region.
Commenting Jeremy says,
“The Midlothian Science Festival is a wonderful way for local people to learn about science and for children to engage in fun activities that might inspire them to be the next generation of scientific innovators!”
“I encourage everyone to view the programme of events which can be found at www. midlothiansciencefestival.com as there is something that will interest people of all ages and backgrounds, such as the Geocaching Treasure Hunt at Vogrie Country Park or the Science Alive Gala Day at Lasswade Centre.”
“I commend the team of volunteers organising this Science Festival for bringing science into the heart of the Midlothian community. Midlothian has a rich science and engineering heritage and hopefully this Festival will promote the career opportunities within this field and encourage people to get involved in science and I wish the organisers every success with these events.”
