Lothian MSPs Gordon Lindhurst, Miles Briggs and Jeremy Balfour have today hosted a ‘Blooming Great Tea Party’ at their constituency office in Edinburgh to raise money in aid of Marie Curie.
The charity provides care and support for more than 7,400 people living with a terminal illness in Scotland each year, including 2,500 people at hospices in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The MSPs took part in the country-wide initiative, and they, their staff and guests contributed to the tea party by baking varieties of cakes and providing refreshments. The tea party was well attended by members of the public and the event raised almost £200 for the charity.
Speaking after the tea party, Gordon Lindhurst said:
“It was a real pleasure to host this tea party; certainly one of my highlights of the recess calendar so far. Blooming Great Tea Parties raise a good amount of money for Marie Curie, a charity that provides such important assistance for those suffering from a terminal illness, as well as their families.”
Jeremy Balfour MSP said:
“I am delighted we were able to support Marie Curie, who provide such important palliative care and support to terminally ill people and their loved ones.”
