Jeremy Balfour, Scottish Conservatives MSP for Lothian, has lodged a motion in the Scottish Parliament highlighting a new charity called SuperTroop that specialises in residential holidays for children and young people with learning difficulties. SuperTroop, which has recently been launched, is hoping to host its first residential holiday in summer 2018 at Fettes College, supported by a team of pupil volunteers from the school.
Jeremy commented saying,
“I am delighted to support SuperTroop, who are hoping to improve the lives of children aged 8-18 years old living with learning difficulties and enable them to experience a specialist holiday that they might not otherwise be able to have.”
“I thank Fettes College for hosting the first SuperTroop holiday, which I believe will be an excellent venue due to its high quality and accessible residential accommodation and its superb facilities including the swimming pool and sports hall.”
“This is a fantastic example of local independent schools working alongside charities to improve the lives of disadvantaged children in the community. I wish SuperTroop every success in their new venture.”
