Lothian MSP, Jeremy Balfour, participated in a beach clean at Fisherrow, Musselburgh on Saturday.
The event was organised by the Marine Conservation Society as part of Great British Beach Clean.
Members of the Marine Conservation Society and local volunteers gathered to do a litter sweep of the beach on Saturday morning.
Mr Balfour has praised the work of the Marine Conservation Society but has called for all constituents to do more to keep beaches clean.
Scottish Conservative and Unionist MSP, Jeremy Balfour, has said:
“I was delighted to contribute to the beach clean at Fisherrow on Saturday.
“I commend the work of the Marine Conservation Society and all those who took part in the Great British Beach Clean.
“However, the efforts made to keep our beaches clean should not be restricted to activists on one particular day.
“We all have a part to play in making sure that we leave beaches cleaner than we found them.”
